“STILL GOT THE BLUES”

BLUES-WPWhy do so many of us use the term “I got the blues?”
In fact, blue is the favorite color of most men and most women. Many see it as sunny and bright.  If you happen to like blue, you can be described as someone who values close relationships.

People who love the color blue are very selective of the people they call a friend. When they do select someone as their friend, they will take the time to build a solid relationship before they are considered a true friend.

People who like the color blue are highly recognized as people who put others needs before their personal needs. However, do not underestimate a blue lover’s kindness as a weakness; when they are tested they will stand their ground – you can count on it.

So when you think you have the blues, you are just someone who values fair play and keep order when there is chaos around you. It also means that you are a crusader who just wish someone besides you to do the right thing and take a hit just once in a while for the people.

“FORGIVENESS”

SKYFALL-PM-SMAL

Some of the most difficult time to pray is when you are going through hard circumstances. When faced with great pain, or trial, or sadness it can be easy to turn away from God and look inward. Sadly, this will only result in more pain and greater discomfort.

This week the Victims’ families of Charleston South Carolina offered forgiveness and salvation to the shooter! This act of kindness shown by the families is a reflection of how love can begin the healing process and their faith in Christ. The outcome of this tragedy will be forever in the minds of all of us.

The word “forgive” means to wipe the slate clean, to pardon, to cancel a debt. When we wrong someone, we seek his or her forgiveness in order for the relationship to be restored. It is important to remember that forgiveness is not granted because a person deserves to be forgiven.

Would any of us, after such a horrific loss of a family member forgive the slayer? The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). If we withhold forgiveness to others, forgiveness will also be withheld from us. All of us need forgiveness. Don’t let a tragedy separate you from your faith in your savior.

LEADERSHIP INFLUENCE

16Gz2hU-LEADERSHIP-PM

There are many leaders that people admire and who have influenced their leadership style. However, there is a style of leadership that does not always capture people attention and may confuse other people.

Imagine a leader who creates a team from ordinary people who were not from an elite or educated community. Consider how this style of leadership created other leaders by encouraging them to go out on their own without micro-managing them to carry a message.

This style of leadership focus on the growth of the individual, that they themselves might flourish and achieve their full potential and not primarily the growth and potential of the organization. The primary concern would be to serve their followers, and the only stipulation reviled was to share the responsibility and ownership with the people who follow, and to be mindful of their role and how it played in moving a message forward.

Leadership is an attitude, a behavior and an influence. Each one of us needs to exhibit leadership strategies in our relationships with others, in our marriages, in our workplaces, in our child rearing and in every other aspect of our lives. We should lead to serve others.
