When you are humble you can expect to see the lower end of life, accept mistakes and learn to give rather than receive.
Learning to be humble is of paramount importance in most spiritual traditions, and humility can help you develop more fully and to enjoy a richer relationship with other people, as well as creating opportunities for you to earn respect.
Humility isn’t a very popular word. Yet, all throughout the bible a life of humility teaches about the benefits of being “humble-minded.” for example in the book of James 4:6. It says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (ESV).
Humility comes naturally to some people but in most it needs to be learned. We become humble by being around humble people and by deliberately giving of yourself, acknowledging that it’s not about you
In our daily life, this means working to break down the barriers that separate people and to avoid placing more credence on the rich over the poor, the able-bodied over the disabled, the literate over the illiterate, the strong over the weak. Can you accept that we are only here to be of service to others?
