The person who is hardest to forgive is the same person who can teach you the greatest lesson in your life. When you love yourself enough to rise above any situation, understanding forgiveness will become easy. I have learned to remain positive amongst all the negativity that comes my way, and have learned the importance of rising above it.
When someone you care about hurts you, you should not hold on to the anger, resentment and any thoughts of revenge. It is important to embrace forgiveness; to move forward in your life. Forgiveness can lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the person who hurt you.
Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you deny the other person’s responsibility for hurting you, and it doesn’t minimize or justify the wrong. You can forgive the person without excusing the act.
As you let go of grudges, you will no longer define your life by how you have been hurt, but by the compassion and understanding you have for forgiving other people in life.
