What does it mean, when you say, “The Sky is the Limit”?

Does this slogan define the American Dream or a pie in the sky?  The idea to be limitless says that if you work hard enough and stay persistent you can achieve all your hopes and desires without limits.

When you dream, dream big and life will be limitless.  Aim high, remain humble in life will bring you contentment that will carry you until you achieve all your dreams.

I think you have to believe, only you can place limits on yourself.  You are capable of making your dreams come true if you only just believe
